ET i Linux z kartą S3 Savage/IX-MV Opcje

Witam!
Mam problem z odpaleniem ET na Notebook'u HP Omnibook XE3 z kartą S3 Savage/IX-MV, a mianowicie gdy chcę odpalić grę to na ułamek sekundy pojawia się czarny ekran, w tym samym momencie program przestawia mi rozdzielczość na 800x600 a następnie program kończy działanie. Jaka może być tego przyczyna? Aha, jak odpalam pod X ale w xterm'ie (konsoli) to otrzymuję taki koniec wydruk:

ale sądzę że to tylko dlatego że jest pod konsolą to nie może znaleźć x'ów...

Czy ktoś mi pomoże?

Kolejny problem z podsystemem OpenGL.
ET nie wykorzystuje DirectX, tylko OpenGL-a, którego nie masz. Zaopatrz się w nowe sterowniki do twojej karty graficznej, tylko takie z OpenGL-em. W innych kartach (GeForce) na tem problem pomaga zainstalowanie detonatorów (nie dam głowy, że do twojej coś takiego jest ).

no dobra, ale zacznijmy od tego że na stronie producenta nie ma sterowników do tejże karty dla linuxa i jak chyba nie zauważyłeś, to pod linuxem nie ma directX, a na głównej stronie OpenGL nie ma jako tako źrodeł OpenGL bo jak sami napisali OpenGL jest standardowo "doczepiony" do linuxa.
A tak z drugiej strony kilka dni wczesniej instalowałem to samo na innm komputerze z takim samym linuxem debianem i taką samą chyba konfiguracją, ale tam była sobie karta NVidia GeForce4 440 MX 128 MB i wystarczyła ściągnąć z download.nvidia.com specjalny sterownik dla nvidii oraz glx.....

tak więc czy ktoś mi może pomóc?

Masz rację na Linuxa nie ma DirectX (wierny użytkownik Win ). Masz pecha, mało popularna karta graficzna. Jeżeli Linux ma już OpenGL, to za starą wersję. A czy w ogóle twoja karta obsługuje OpenGL-a?

U kolegi chodziło, bo ma GeForca i nowe stery (obsługuje OpenGL, jest popularna, regularnie pojawiają się nowe stery i detonatory).

no tak, na komputerze mojego brata gdzie jest ten sam linux tyle tylko że ksrta graficzna to GeForce4 440 MX/MX 128 MB odpaliło się bez problemu, wystarczyło że ściągnęłem najnowsze sterowniki dal linuxa z download.nvidia.com oraz glx z tejże samej strony. teraz zrobiłem tak:
zainstalowałem tamtego nvidia_glx przeinstalowałem wolfa, wgrałem najnowszy sterownik dla karty S3 Savage dla linuxa i jak odpalam przez ikonę lub "wykonując polecenie" w KDE3 to jest tak samo jak wcześn iej, natomiast gdy odpalam sobie z pod xterm'a to zmienia mi już teraz rodzielczość i otrzymuję taki wydruk:

A w /etc/X11/XF86config zmieniles ? Nie wiem co dokładnie trzeba dla twojej karty pozmieniac ale myśle ze nie masz w Section "Module" opcji load "glx".sprobój ...

A wiec chyba nei masz opengl zainstalowanego poprawnie albo ...
ja mam wyłączone load "dri" ,bodajze tak mialem napisane aby wyłączyc w readme z driverów nvidii ...
jak chcesz to wyśle ci moje xf86config ale na poczte bo juz nie bedziemy zasmiecac forum ...
Moj numer gg 1598332 odezwij sie i podaj maila to ci podesle ,jak chcesz oczywiscie ..
Mam nadzieje ze admini nam wybaczą takie długie posty....
W ostatniej chwili zauważyłem tez ze w readme z nvidii każa wyłączyc load "GLcore" -try...

próbowałem już wczesniej i z wyłączonymi GLCore i dri i próbowałem z wyłączonymi tymi opcjami każdą z osobna, ale nic nie dało......

W taki razie bede obstawiał na zle zainstalowane opengl .spróbuj zainstalowac cos co korzysta z opengl (chyba np bzflag ) i jezeli to tez sie wysypie to najprawdopodobniej to własnie to ..a jak nie to ja juz nei wiem ..moze rzeczywiscie kup nową karte (chciaz do netboka to troche wiecej jest niz do zwykłego kompa ,co ? )
Jak zauważyłeś jak ja wyłączyłem glx to miałem identyczny log z et jak i ty miałeś ....
A inni gracze z kartą np ati mają takie problemy pod windą (bo linuxowych graczy domyslam sie jest niewielu ) moze trzeba cos w etmain.cfg zmienic jednak w to nie wierze ...

powiem tak, sprzedałem taktego kompa i kupiłem sobie nowszego lepszego: Toshiba Pentium4 2,8 GHz 512 MB RAM, GeForce FX cośtam 5600 64 MB, dysk 60 GB i ET chodzi mi cudownie. Tak swoją drogą na starym kompie pod windowsem jak se zainstalowałem et to mi się komp wieszał przy uruchamianiu (win 2000).
A teraz z kolei mam nowy problem z et na nowym kompie:
